It was bitter cold, but it felt good to be out riding with the air on my face (other than just to ride to work). I haven't been hiking or birding in over a month, I think. May go over to Blackwater NWR next weekend if I'm lucky. This winter has been tough so far.birdsflyhttp://porchbound.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7804148397927127420.post-40289519444549475712010-01-09T07:59:50.008-05:002010-01-09T07:59:50.008-05:00You're right, most of the people I know ended ...You're right, most of the people I know ended 2009 in some sort of funky slump. What was it about last year?

Unmoored is a good way of describing it. Normally it wouldn't bother me so much, I'd just go out and go for a hike or something, but even that's a less than appealing option lately, considering how crowded the trails have become and how freaking cold it is this winter. (Let's see, how many more things can I find to complain about? ;) )KaliDurgahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13218716336939570814noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7804148397927127420.post-68062488503750139112010-01-07T13:52:51.301-05:002010-01-07T13:52:51.301-05:00I hope you will come back soon!

I think sometimes it's easy to get kind of unmoored, at least I do, without those things - my problem is they're ever-shifting. It drives me f'ing crazy.

So, thinking of you! And good luck! And I think a lot of people are in slumps right now, so if nothing else, you're in good company :) Hope you come back to blogging soon!Chryshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08888604641107836723noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7804148397927127420.post-17704438416377109902010-01-03T10:33:46.611-05:002010-01-03T10:33:46.611-05:00human being: That sculpture is in Greenmount Ceme...human being: That sculpture is in Greenmount Cemetery in Baltimore, MD. The chapel building next to it was being repaired when I took that photo a few years ago and both it and that grave were surrounded by a fence, so I wasn't able to get close enough to get any information about it. I definitely need to go back one day to see it up close.

Cyclache is an excellent word. And thank you for the line from Sepheri, very beautiful. Namaste.

Betty & Grover: Betty, it sucks, doesn't it? I think my problem is the opposite of yours, though-- I live too much for fun and haven't found anything to work towards. I think that what I need is what Groover has: goals and dreams and hard work. The challenge is figuring out my goals and dreams. Hence the slump.

birds fly: I just realized that I've been missing your posts since you changed blog names.
