This is Ivan. He's four months old and is currently living in my bedroom while he and Olive go through the kitteh acclimation process. I haven't had a full night's sleep since he moved in because he attacks my feet through the blankets all. night. long, but he makes up for it by purring like a motorboat whenever I pet him. I think he's cute. Olive doesn't yet know what she thinks of him.
And, no, he doesn't have a funky upper lip. I caught him mid-nose lick.
He's a good looking cat and I love the name Ivan. Very regal sounding plus carries some interesting connotations. Can't wait to meet him!
ReplyDeleteI had a Russian Blue that looked a lot like your new one. It's weird, because his name was Ivan, too. He passed a few months ago. He was a great cat.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a sweetie! I am sure he is glad to find a place to live.
ReplyDeleteI went to the vet last Saturday to get my cat his annual flu shot and the vet showed me this most gorgeous six week old kitten that she was hoping to find a good home for. My husband said no. :-(
ReplyDeleteP.S. Your blog title made me curious. Welches Ding an sich? :-)
Ack, groover, you've exposed me for the fraud I am. I unfortunately speak no German. The phrase 'das Ding and sich' is something I cribbed from Immanuel Kant- It refers to 'the thing in itself' and that's what I hope to present in my blog posts (my self being the 'thing').
ReplyDeleteThanks, everyone, for the comments. Cats are definitely wonderful creatures to have in one's life, they have such awesome personalities.
That's right - Kant. I knew I heard it before. It's not easy talking about Kant in English. People always think I'm using a very very bad word ... :-)
