It's been a while since I've randomly perused images at the A. Aubrey Bodine site, but voila!, what should come up but my photo's possibly apparently unconscious inspiration:
So, does this mean I'm derivative, influenced by, or just have a similar (though much less talented) eye?

ReplyDeleteWhat's really interesting to me is that it appears to be the exact same location, since it's from Bodine's Fells Point series. The iron grillwork is different, so I'm guessing it was changed at some point (in addition to having some lovely barbed wire added as an accessory).

when i first saw these two a while ago, the first one was telling me something more... now think it's beacause of the barbed wires...
There's an ironic contrast, too-- Mine has a edgier feel to it, what with the barbed wire and trash, while Bodine's is much more aesthetic. But the area has become so touristified and sanitized these days (despite the litter) that it was probably much grittier in his time.
